I'm really pleased with the way this turned out.

I was on the beach with my daughter & our dog
and saw a lovely piece of driftwood.
It almost looks like stone.

It's the perfect base for this little lady.

I tend to find images from old books to cut out.
I'm not very good at downloading & printing out images
but this year,
I've promised myself a new scanner / printer.

My husband gave me a new camera for my birthday
and I can already see the difference it makes.

Hope you like my little lady as much as I do.

I'm off to search for some more suitable pieces of driftwood
and if I find enough,
I just might do a giveaway......

I picked up a lovely book called
YESTERDAYS
The Way We Were
in the Charity shop
and loved this image
of a young girl
standing in shallow water.

I brushed some watered down Gesso
over the piece of brown card
my paper flowers
were attached to
then added some bits & pieces.

There is a lovely group
known as the
Queen Bee Five
QB5
who regularly swap their lovely makes.

I love them all individually
and I love them as a group.

I saw their Christmas gift swaps
and decided to try to make what Carole had...
snippet rolls.

Carole ran the fabric journal tutorial
I did last year.

It seems that
many of us have been inspired to make a snippet roll too...

Mine is not finished yet
and will be different as I have no
sewing machine
but it's fun using up those scraps...

why not give it a try ?
