The Three Muses Challenge

***
here is my " wonky " entry for
the three muses challenge
fowl related

Not so pleased with this ....it's for a challenge on The Three Muses theme Chicken related.

First I toyed with an Edwardian lady in a hat - trying to get a hen plus real feathers out of the hat. It all went wrong !

This is put together from a Warren Kimble calendar, & bits & bobs with a feather from Lucy our Silver Sussex hen and photographed in the nesting box.

I don't have much in the way of equipment - tend to see images I like in books. I'd like to get some stamps ... I've seen stamper's anonymous but that is in the US... can anyone recommend a UK company ? I like old vintage style stampers. Ideally I'd like to collect some really old ones.

I see that people get images from different sites but I prefer to get mine from old books etc as they won't be doubled by anyone.

Ah well it's all experimental !

  1. These are rather fun. Sometimes we end up creating something totally off from where we started. It's all in the eye of the beholder - I like them!

  2. I love both your chicken pictures - very quirky and whimsical and beautifully done. I find that it is much better to go with first instincts rather than worry that something else might be better. Great work!

  6. Hey, your pieces are great, and very original, too! I think one doesn't necessarily need much fancy stuff to make art - recycled papers and images from books and magazines make great collages!

  7. I like both your pieces very much, and I agree with Eila about supplies. There are so many free public domain images available on the net, it's a veritable storehouse of collage pieces. Thank you for playing along this week and sharing your talent. We look forward to seeing more of your work!

  8. Well Miss Bad P, I think you are talking yourself down here a little bit, you have come up with some very interesting fowl play I would say. I love it.

Oh by the way, I'm not a stamper myself but I think if your Google 'Rainbow Silks' or 'Rainbow Crafts' (using search UK only) you'll come up with a mail order shop, and they sell everything, and sometimes it's even postage free. If you can think of a craft, they will cater for it.

I use Rainbow Silks for my American Craft Mags.

  12. I liked the fact you thought "inside the box".... the nest box!!!!! Thanks for the comment on my blog re the snail animation. I laughed when I read about your speaker. One of the switches on our washing machine only works if there is a paperclip jammed under it. It has been like this for over a year!
